 Advice and guidance for contacting the relevant authorities
 Hands-on assistance in acquiring essential equipment such as blankets and heaters for winter
 Practical help in purchasing food and medicine
 Home repairs - by advance appointment
 Meals - referrals for receiving hot meals at a low cost

 Manicure, pedicure in the elderly home.

The volunteer’s connection answers the basic need of human communication of the elderly, and make sure everything is normal in their lives.

Melabev began in 1981 with the opening of a day center for people with Alzheimer's disease - a response to the lack of programs in the community for this growing population and their families.

Today, Melabev has five day centers comprised of groups that are based on cognitive level. Each day hundreds of individuals participate in an array of social and therapeutic activities, These activities tap into a person’s interests, often sparking memories, eliciting joy and fostering dignity and feelings of competency and self-worth. The centers also provide much-needed respite and support to families, assisting them in keeping their loved ones at home and out of an institution for as long as possible.

Most recently, Melabev established Pe'ima, a group for those with Young Onset Dementia, who comprise nearly 10% of Israel’s dementia population. The Pe'ima group - which is the first of its kind in Israel - is designed for people in their 60’s, 50’s and even 40’s – many of whom are in the prime of their lives, with careers and children at home - whose needs, interests and abilities vary greatly from their older counterparts.
