Melabev specializes in Alzheimer's and dementia care and raises public awareness of the needs of older adults and people with dementia. Melabev enables quality of life with dignity and increased self-worth for its participants, while providing respite and support for their loved ones.

Those with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related symptoms, unfortunately, are no longer just older adults. Statistics state that 10% of those under the age of 65 are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Whatever the age, they face a decline in their cognitive, social and motor skills.
Without appropriate therapeutic activities, they are left on their own, and most often with only the help of a family caregiver. With no activities to stimulate them, they soon lose their memory and thinking skills which affects the person’s ability to perform everyday activities. As time progresses, they will become not only mentally impaired but physically as well.

Early Onset Dementia is a vicious disease, striking people at the prime of their lives, often when the individual
.is at or near the height of his/her career and earning capacity, and before their children are fully on their own

Pe’ima (Early Onset Dementia group) - A unique treatment program with meaningful activities for those
under age 65.
Melabev is the first organization in Israel to address this special need.
Pe’ima participants constitute a strong and secure peer group where they join in supporting one another while receiving individual and respectful guidance and attention from the dedicated staff.
Through family support groups, they and their family members learn to cope with the challenging realities of their disease.

Melabev runs five day centers in Jerusalem ,Gush Eztiun and in Beit Shemesh. Within these day centers
there are individual clubs ranging from the lowest functioning to the early onset higher functioning conducted
.in multiple languages – Hebrew, Russian, English and a planned pilot program in Arabic and French

At Home with Melabev – personalized therapeutic activities by our professional staff of social workers and therapists in the home of those who are physically or emotionally unable to transition from their home setting to a day center. This program is offered nationwide.

Telephone Reassurance Program- call center, manned by volunteers, reaching out to elders who are living alone to inquire of their well-being and needs, providing minor home repairs, food shopping or arranging “Meals on Wheels” if needed. A daily “Hi, how are you?” phone call lets the person know that someone cares and that they are not alone.

Research Unit - conducts studies in collaboration with academic institutions in Israel and abroad

Personal Care-giving Service - places trained home care workers in the community
