They are our brothers who live with and beside us as one community. For many years, Druze have fully participated in Israeli society and have tied their fate to that of Israel’s and the Jewish people.

You now have an opportunity to show your care and support for the Druze people beyond changing your profile picture. Druze orphans need your help and this is your time to contribute.

According to the Druze faith, it is prohibited to adopt orphans meaning that many Druze children do not have a home or a family who can take them in. These children, who need a house to grow up in, a place that will be their world and provide them the tools necessary to deal with the life’s difficulties, find their house in the Druze children’s village in the town of Hurfeish.

The orphan’s village is the only one of its type in Israel. Soldiers and academics have grown up there. Adults who came to the village as children are now raising their own families. Every child is a world unto itself. The village makes sure to meet the needs of the children over many years. On the most basic level, it provides education, food and a place to live. More than that though, it provides enrichment, close knit community and help even after they leave the village.

Right now, the village operates 7 homes in which 80 children between the ages of 5-16 are being raised and educated. The Druze character of the Village is expressed in their everyday life through careful preservation of Druze customs.

The goal of the Village is to grant these children a corrective experience and the feeling of home and family. We try to provide a temporary nuclear family, something that is so important in a child’s development in addition to reducing educational, cultural and societal gaps.

The Children’s Village is a place that lets children believe in themselves and create a new path to develop their abilities and to gain tools to triumph in life when they leave the Village as adults, ready to integrate into the general world.

This is your chance to support the Druze community not just during tragedies. This is your chance to be with them during the day to day. Please help Israeli society as a whole by donating.
