Last summer, the sea took dozens of lives. Victims sank to the depths far before their time. Only some of these instances made it to the Israeli headlines, but of the ones that did, perhaps the most notorious was the terrible tragedy of the three boys that drowned in the Kinneret during Pesach. During the 6 day operation to locate them, 6 ships, 3 drones and 130 volunteers from Zaka were used. Sadly, the bodies of the boys were not found until the moment that the Navy lent Zaka a sonar device. From then, it took less than 24 hours to find the bodies.

As a result, Zaka, the main first response team in Israel, is now working day and night to raise one million NIS to purchase a Sonar system in order to save lives. Only with a Sonar device will Zaka be able to avoid the tragedy that occurred last summer without risking additional lives.

Every year, the Zaka diver unit puts in 8000 hours worth of searching after those lost in the water using only manual methods. This means that there is a small chance of finding those who are drowning or struggling to stay afloat and a greater chance of our volunteers facing dangerous situations.

Zaka volunteers are the first to reach disaster sites. They see with their own eyes some of the most terrible things anyone can see and affect the lives of us all.

It is worthwhile to be a part of this amazing project, which could save any one of us or our loved ones.

We only need to give Zaka the tools and they will take them for us into danger wherever they are needed.

Thank you for your donation.
