The Israel Cancer Association (ICA) leads the way in the fight against cancer diseases, indisputably a top national priority.

There are some 300,000 cancer patients and survivors in Israel today. Each year, more than 30,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in Israel, of whom 450 are children under the age of 14.

The ICA endeavors to reduce cancer morbidity and mortality, through a comprehensive network of cancer-related programs geared towards every sector of the Israeli population, including extensive public information and education campaigns on cancer prevention and screening programs, the regular upgrade of treatment modalities, catering to the welfare of cancer patients and survivors, and enhancing their quality of life.

As things stand now, prevention is the most effective tool in the battle to eradicate cancer from our lives. ICA's programs have led to a significant improvement in early detection rates of prevalent cancers in Israel, as well as to higher cure rates and significantly lower mortality rates.

The ICA is a key player in the promotion of cancer research, as today's scientific discoveries herald tomorrow's cures.
Additionally, the ICA initiates and runs diverse rehabilitation and welfare programs for patients, survivors, and their families, and holds an exceptional number of support groups for cancer patients and their families, as well as women coping with breast cancer.

Over the years, the ICA has also lent its assistance to various medical centers. This financial support has been in the form of renovations and construction of edifices, the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, and finance posts in medical centers for those who specialize in the treatment of cancer patients.

All ICA activities, including those involving the education system, are conducted with the generous help of some 3,000 volunteers who are active in over 70 branches throughout Israel.

ICA relies solely on public donations and receives no government subsidy whatsoever. This autonomy enables the ICA to operate and conduct a wide range of activities in a bias-free environment and makes every donation ever-more crucial for achieving the next breakthrough in the potentially life-saving battle against cancer diseases.
