Inclusion Gift List for Special Kids

Make a wish come true and give to kids with disabilities the best gift ever - the Gift of Inclusion!

In Israel, children with disabilities who are educated in the segregated special needs system receive all the support they need from the government, from therapies to support to transportation and stipends. Despite the legal right to inclusion in the “regular” education system, and its acknowledged benefit to society, children who choose this path lose many of these rights and therefore are often unable to be mainstreamed, despite their abilities and its clear advantages, because parents simply do not have the financial resources to make it happen.
Inclusion must be available to all – not only those who can afford it.
These kids need the teaching aides, speech, occupational and physical therapy, inclusion support, transportation from school to therapies and home, tutors and more that they would automatically receive if they were in Special Ed.
Beyachad works tirelessly organizing lobbies to revise the law to provide the support that will enable actualization of these kids rights to inclusion.
Until we succeed in changing legislation, these kids have no support.
Help us make the dream of inclusion for these kids a reality!

The INCLUSION GIFT LIST project was established to help 5 Jerusalem children with disabilities - Neta, Daniel, Caila, Tehilla and Hallel. Each has a wish list of the things they need to be able to go to a regular school, with “typical” kids and be fully included in their communities and Israeli society. Your donations will lay the foundation for them to fulfill their potential and become fully contributing members of society.

This campaign was originally the initiative of a fantastic, enterprising 13 year old boy, Eliav, who wanted to do a tzedaka campaign for his barmitzva that would not only be about charity, but also about "tzedek" - "social justice". Eliav dreams of making the world a better and more inclusive place for his sister Hallel and all kids like her - a world that relates to people with disabilities as equals and gives them the same opportunities as you and me. The campaign has truly begun to make an impact and create awareness, but Eliav's dream is still far from being realized.
Help Eliav make is dream come true, for his little sister and all the other kids like her in Israel!

Beyachad believes that each and every person has the right to full and complete inclusion in their community. With your support we promote, lobby, advocate, facilitate and educate, resolutely and unceasingly, to empower people with disabilities to be included in every aspect of society and communal life.

OUR VISION & MISSION
People with disabilities are most often segregated and isolated with little interaction or connection with neighbors, colleagues, community and the general public.
We strive for equality for people with disabilities and act to actualize their full and qualitative inclusion in society in every aspect of life in Israel.
The legal foundation for the inclusion of people with disabilities in society already exists. What remains is to inform and transform society’s attitudes and pave the way for inclusion in communal life from infancy, to provide the optimal chance of acceptance and successful inclusion in society in later life.
Beyachad specializes in empowering individuals, families and organizations engaged in the struggle to actualize the right to inclusion.
Beyachad offers consultation services, support and assistance to all who seek to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society. We believe in the power of collaboration to successfully effect change and create a society of equal opportunity.

OUR GOALS:
To respect and recognize the rights, abilities and potential of people with disabilities.
To realize that potential and actualize the inherent capabilities of people with disabilities and raise their quality of life.
To support people with disabilities and their families through their struggle for inclusion, at every stage in life.
To create the optimal conditions for successful inclusion in society.
To transform the perception of people with disabilities as beneficiaries to that of contributing members of society.

Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them
— Albert Einstein

Our action tracks:
• Lobbying for effective and practical legislation that enables the inclusion of people with disabilities in Israel and its implementation
• Projects that actualize inclusion in the education system and in employment
