Torah MiTzion is a Religious Zionist Movement which strives to serve as a living bridge between Israel and the diaspora and implement the words of the prophet Yishayahu (Isaiah): “Ki MiTzion Tetze Torah U’dvar Hashem MiYerushalayim” - “for out of Zion shall the Torah come forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem”.
Our expertise is at providing high-impact, dynamic, educational shlichim and shlichot. They are recruited from Zionist yeshivot and Midrashot where they serve in the IDF or National Service and exemplify an idealistic model of commitment to both Judaism and Zionism.
They learn in chavrutot, gives various shiurim and classes, establish men and women’s Beit Midrash. They teach in local schools and shuls, in both formal and informal education and organize community wide events. They reach out to all age groups and bring the special Torah of Eretz Yisrael to the Diaspora.
In Israel Torah MiTzion recruits, screens, trains, places and supports our shlichim. In 2016-17 alone 70 shlichim in 18 communities learnt nearly 19,600 chavruta hours with community members, gave over 2,700 shiurim and arranged some 560 events with 42,000 participants! Every year dozens of Jews make aliyah thanks to the influence of the shlichim.
For Jews and communities who do not host shlichim we have developed an Online Interactive Beit Midrash in Russian, German and French. For the past 5 years we offer a wide variety of courses, given by prominent lecturers and rabbis. Every Jew is given the opportunity to connect from the comfort of his own home, and just last year we hosted 358 shiurim, with participants from 43 countries!
This year we are celebrating 22 years of activity.
To date we have dispatched over 1300 shlichim around the world.
The impact our shlichim have over time is telling –
more Jews who choose to learn Torah, more connection to Israel and more Aliyah
