Zichron Menachem

Zichron Menachem, which means in memory of Menachem, was founded in 1990 by Chaim and Miri Ehrental after their oldest child, Menachem, died of Leukaemia at the age of 15 after being diagnosed at the age of one. The Ehrentals had learned on their own flash the coping difficulties of cancer stricken children and their family members and chosen to commemorate Menachem’s memory in a huge and exciting life work of voluntarism for the sake of every child battling cancer and family in Israel. In Zichron Menachem, the sick child and the entire family is accompanied by a variety of educational, social and rehabilitative activities. Zichron Menachem’s one of a kind House of Dreams Day Center encompasses all of its services. Among them: ● alternative medicine ● physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions (in sports, carpentry, music, art, photography, a petting zoo and more) ● medical consultation ● support groups ● beauty treatments ● enrichment programs ● parental guidance ● lectures ● private lessons and workshops. In addition, it manages and holds: ● a Blood and Platelet Bank ● a Hospital Activities Program ● a Hair Donation Program, which enables it to supply custom-made, free of charge wigs for every girl and woman battling cancer in Israel ● 3 annual holiday camps in Israel and abroad ● Fun Days ● parties and birthdays ● parents vacations and workshops and more. For its important activities, the association received numerous awards during the years, including, The Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement and Special Contribution to Society – 2019.
