Aluma seeks to contribute to the social development of Israeli society through the integration and empowerment of young Israelis that come from different backgrounds. Aluma aims to guarantee social mobility by strengthening the sense of belonging and providing the necessary tools (information, advice, and guidance) at three crucial moments in the life of Israeli youth: military/civilian service, higher education, and satisfactory employment immersion. Today Aluma oversees country-wide programs for youth and young adults from underrepresented populations including communities from Israel's geographical social peripheries, religious women, new immigrants, Arab and ultra-orthodox Jews, among others. The programs operate in both individual and group settings. Every year, over 50,000 young men and women participate in Aluma programs. Aluma's main filed of operation Post High-School: designed to prepare our demographic for adult life and military or national service by improving motivation and developing tools that allow them to experience a meaningful service. Higher Education: We encourage young adults to enter academia and help them persevere and improve their academic performance. Employment: Our programs are designed to help young adults acquire the soft skills needed for optimal integration into the employment market.
