New Family Organization was founded in 1998 by a group of lawyers, psychologists, and economists with the goal of promoting family rights in Israel and the right of every individual to have a family without distinction of religion, race, gender, nationality, or gender identity. The association and its activities stem from a pressing and profound need for legal equality for all families in Israel, particularly women and children, to preserve family rights and ensure their existence in a safe and healthy environment. The term "family" is not defined in the law, affecting close to a million families in Israel, where a double or limited number of children are deprived of essential services. The organization works extensively to advance family and individual rights through legal counseling and representation, legislative advocacy, education, and raising awareness of family rights. The association promotes two leading projects in the field of legal and civil couple recognition to prevent discrimination between different families and projects related to inherited family continuity, family legacy and multi-generational family relations.
