Yad L'Achim

Yad Lachim was founded in 1950. The organization is independent and beholden to no political entity. As indicated by its name, and since its founding, "Yad Lachim"has been dedicated to working for the public good without ulterior motives. Our activities include: A. Extensive activity throughout Israel regarding Jewish women who marry non-Jews and are in distress, requesting to be freed. Yad Lachim offers all of the necessary help to these women, from saving them from their current locations (sometimes these women have children as well), housing them in hidden apartments, legal help, in some cases flying them outside of Israel and providing social workers to address any other physical or emotional needs. The organization works to prevent intermarriage through public relations campaigns in schools, lectures, advertisements, publications and every type of media. B. Counteracting missionaries and mystical cults. The organization assists new immigrants, youth and families in distress who have become entangled with missionaries due to their difficult social or economic situations. In addition, it engages in public relations including the distribution of anti-missionary materials in various languages, meetings, publications, seminars for victims of missionaries, some of whom are exposed to the essence of the Jewish religion for the first time. C. Escorting children to school and other education institutions. Yad Lachim helps children get to school by arranging transportation for parents and children to get to know schools, escorting children to school during testing periods and maintaining contact until they are fully absorbed into the school system. Our registrars are in close touch with parents, principals and social workers. One of our principle goals is to prevent youth from dropping out of the school system.
