A sweet moment in the life of the elderly

In the current reality of war and uncertainty we all experience moments of togetherness but quite a few moments of loneliness. For the elderly, the feelings are even mixed with fear of reality, fear of leaving the house and a feeling of anxiety. Surprise cake was established in 2020 by Tal Harel, in order to bring light into the lives of the elderly. Volunteers from all over the country bake the cakes and meet the elderly in their homes. These are sweet and unforgettable moments for the elderly, but also for the volunteers. The "Iron Swords" war made the lives of the elderly almost impossible. The importance of these meetings has become almost at the level of saving lives. Just in the last year, 6,900 meetings were held from Beer Sheva to Nahariya, in 14 major cities in Israel! The importance of the non-profit’s continued activity is critical to Israeli society and its resilience.
