Hike for Hope March 2020 – a socially minded journey in Israel Tuesday- Thursday, March 17-19, 2020 Treat yourself, your friends and your family to an unforgettable two days of hiking in the lowest place on earth – the Dead Sea area and the dramatic landscape adjoining. Raise .money for children with cerebral palsy who cannot walk. Hiking to Make a Difference Hike for Hope is a unique project that began in 2004. The hike supports Tsad Kadima, an award-winning organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. There are over 300 kids, young adults and adults in regular daily programs throughout Israel, and the numbers continue to grow. You can find young people with cerebral palsy from Tsad Kadima who attends regular schools as well as universities, independent living apartments, and even in the Israeli army. Each year a different route is chosen. This year the hike center around a new section of the famous Israel Trail routed to pass the Dead Sea and the breathtaking desert scenery adjoining. Be among the first to explore this new route and others in the area. Our accommodations will be at the Shkedi Camp Lodge in Neot Hakikar near the Dead Sea. Hike 2020 Date: March 17-19, 2020 As in years past, our hiking routes will accommodate challenging, regular and “family” orientated at a slower pace and easier, shorter route. Accommodation is in heated and cooled group tents in an enclosed complex with hot showers. There is a possibility of sleeping arrangements in a tzimmer/lodge at an extra charge. In the morning and evening time, a rich and varied meal will be served. Lunch is packed from a buffet in the morning. We also provide healthy snacks, fruits and treats. In the tradition of past hikes we will conclude with a festive BBQ. All meals are kosher. In addition: The first hiker in a family is required to raise at least 2,500 NIS in pledges or cash donations to Tsad Kadima by the hike starting date. Couples are required to raise 4,000 NIS. Another 1,000 NIS is required for any additional children from the same family (up to 2000 NIS). In order to try to widen the circle of hikers, veteran hikers who bring one more hiker will get a 50% discount on their fundraising obligation and it will stand on a minimum of 1,250 NIS Please note that if you raise less than these requirements, you will need to pay the difference in order to join the Hike for Hope.
