B”H For the esteemed Ba’alei Chessed, We are honored to share with you the wonderful news of the opening of a new Chabad house in Takayama in the Gifu region of Japan. Need for Chabad House In recent years Japan has become a major tourist attraction, attracting some thirty million tourists yearly. The beautiful Gifu region which includes the Japanese Alps, skiing locations and historical sites is one of the most popular places for tourists. Over 50,000 Israeli tourists and thousands of Jewish tourists from other countries visit this area each year. It is undoubtable that it is time to open a Chabad house in Takayama! Estimated Cost In order to jump start the Chabad House we need to raise a minimum of $80,000 before moving out in less than a month. Our first major activity will be a communal Pesach Seder in which we anticipate over two hundred participants. The estimated cost of the Chabad House for a year is $250,000 and includes plans to open a restaurant providing Kosher food for the many visitors.
