Matanot L'evyonim in Jerusalem (Bo bayom)

By OR YOSSEF

100% from donations will go to poor families that really need it

Donors: 64

100% of donations will go to needy families on Purim day. The donations will be given in person by the Association's President, Rabbi Avraham Dayan, to widows, sick people, poor families, etc., after checking that they are truly needy and according to the halachic rules of giving gifts to the needy. The mitzvah of Matanot L'evyonim on Purim is an inseparable part of the values of Judaism based on giving and helping others, for those who don't have. The Rambam writes: "It is better for a person to increase the amount of gifts to the poor than to increase in his meal and in mishloach manot to his friends, where there is no greater joy than to delight the hearts of the poor, orphans, widows and converts, that the joy of these miserable hearts is similar to the Divine Presence ". Throughout the year, Or Yosef helps thousands of poor families who do not even have the basics to survive. On Purim, we will give your contribution in full and direct to these families, so that the mitzvah that you give will be meaningful and will help those who really need it. The sum of matanot l'evyonim is like the cost of a meal, and according to the halacha one should give for two poor people, but the words of the Rambam are fine, and the more the better.
