Elah Center for the families of the Corona victims

Thanks to the vaccinations, the COVID-19 era seems to have come to an end in Israel. However, while most people are going back to their regular routine, thousands of relatives of the virus' victims are still struggling with their loss. For them, nothing will be the way it used to be. The virus has claimed more than 6,400 victims in Israel. Each deceased leaves behind bewildered relatives, who are often still in disbelief at the unexpected death. Sudden loss is difficult in itself, but the loss of loved ones in COVID times was even more traumatic. Relatives were not allowed to go near the sick, they could not accompany their loved ones or say goodbye, funerals were limited to a small number of relatives and shiv'ahs could not take place at all or only small-scale. The virus has affected families from the entire spectrum of Israeli society. Elah has been helping people who have experienced traumatic loss for 41 years. As a center for coping with loss, we feel the duty and responsibility to reach out to the next of kin of COVID victims, especially at this moment, when the rest of society is going back to normal. We have therefore decided to offer individual, family and group therapy to the families of corona victims, free of charge. To enable this project, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign. #Let's not leave the Corona families alone!
