Since 1990, Lasova NGO has been working to ensure access to the most basic needs for those who need them most. For more than three decades, the organization has demonstrated stability, reliability, and continuous daily activity in support of thousands of people across Israel.
Lasova operates nationwide—from Kiryat Shmona, Karmiel, and Safed in the north, through Ramla, Lod, and Tel Aviv in central Israel, and down to Arad, Ofakim, and Rahma in the south—providing essential services to vulnerable populations.
Today, Lasova operates:
3 soup kitchens, serving more than 2,000 hot, nutritious meals every day to individuals and families in need
21 “Kadima” Youth Centers for complementary education, operating daily and providing a framework of empowerment and advancement for more than 1,200 children and adolescents from low socio-economic backgrounds, including hot meals and comprehensive educational and social support
13 shelters and transitional housing facilities for men and women experiencing homelessness, offering approximately 240 beds
The organization was founded in 1990 by Adv. Gil-Ad Harish and Sharona Harish. Its guiding principle is drawn from the Book of Isaiah:
“Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and to bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh?” (Isaiah 58:7)
The period following the war has led to a significant increase in the number of people in need of our services: more families are facing economic hardship, more children require a stable and supportive framework, and more individuals are finding themselves without a roof over their heads and entering the cycle of life on the streets.
