Avnei Derech’s mission is to impart life skills in young adults with Asperger’s Syndrome at a crucial time in their lives, as they transition to adulthood. Through individual and group training and programs, “Avnei Derech” gives every participant a personal tool kit to springboard into a meaningful adult life of work, study, family and social interaction.
Avnei Derech is the first organization in Israel to develop flexible programs to meet the needs of young adults on the Autism Spectrum (ASD) from the time they are preparing for high school completion, through their mid 20’s. The organization's overall objective is to provide solutions that are either insufficient or non-existent in Israel. Solutions are developed and tested by setting up and operating pilot projects in full coordination with other organizations and government agencies active in this field. Avnei Derech aims to change the quality and quantity of helpful services for the ASD community by developing and jumpstarting programs which can then be offered by government on a broader basis, while Avnei Derech continues to develop new improvements to existing services.
