"Lev BaGalil" was founded with the goal of promoting the development and execution of government policy in support of demographic and economic growth of the Galilee.
While many of the original Jewish settlements were established in the 1950"s, the younger descendants of this Aliya are consistently leaving in favor of big cities where jobs and healthcare are more easily accessible. Only 42.9% of the residents in the north are Jewish, and the Jewish presence has continuously declined until two years ago where a subtle shift was observed. This shift is believed to be the result of much effort on the part of government - local and national, as well as interested non profit organizations, each focusing on a specific area.
The "Lev BaGalil" organization was established in order to influence Israel's policy makers to initiate change that will support the growth and development of Jewish settlements through the development of local infrastructure and business. Lev Bagalil has connected with government leaders in a way that awakens an emotional connection, broad understanding and readiness for active partnership in developing the Galilee.
Having carefully studied the challenges in depth, we have begun over the past three years to implement various projects and programs that support our objective. We strongly believe that where there is passion there is hope! It is crucial to keep the Galilee and its needs on the legislative agenda.
