Chaiyanu

The Chaiyanu Organisation, an Israeli branch of Chai Lifeline, was established in 1999 with the aim of providing financial, physical and emotional assistance and support for children with cancer and their families. We organize functions/celebrations and events for the children and their family members, and do everything in our ability to infuse light and hope into their difficult lives. Our organisation currently supports hundreds of children in all parts of the country, and is in constant contact with each of them through volunteers who give with all their hearts in the form of hospital rounds, home visits and personal mentoring. What we do: Chaiyanu hosts many events during the year such as: -Family fun days and parties during the holidays -The Chanukah Toy Fund- sick children select their own personal gift for Chanukah, and receive presents for all of their siblings - Winter Camp with Chaiyanu –a three day winter retreat in the North of Israel -A trip to South Africa where the children experience ten days of fun and adrenalin and are showered with gifts and delights -Camp Simcha - A summer camp that provides more than 200 children, with cancer and serious illness, from around the world with two weeks of enjoyment and recreation. The children take a break from the routine of treatment and spend their time in the Catskill Mountains of New York carefully supervised by a skilled medical team. Each year Chaiyanu sends over 50 children from Israel to join the famous “Camp Simcha”. -Weekends away- Chaiyanu enables families to have a break from the intensity of hospital life and treatment to rejuvenate together through treasured moments of family time. -Shabbatonim for the children -Financial support for families -Workshops for bereaved mothers-weekly support groups for mothers who have lost loved ones to illness, since even afterwards we are still here for you.
