Our goal is to shape a society whose members feel at home in their Jewish and Zionist culture, and build their personal and public identity from it; a society in which contribution to society, social responsibility, and warm human connection exists. Hechalutz movement, founded by HaMidrasha in Oranim, is a movement that encourages young people to fulfill themselves through mission-driven communities, The spirit of the pioneers' heritage, humanist Zionism, and the Declaration of Independence; Zionism that combines commitment and connection to Jewish culture and heritage with a liberal democratic and universal concept, centered on equality of human value. We operate a variety of programs for young adults before, during, and after military service, which combines a community-group experience, in-depth learning of Israeli society, and experience in educational, social, and value-based activities. Graduates of the programs choose to be active citizens, leaders in government offices, public service, education systems, municipal system, third sector, and a variety of positions of influence and social involvement. In addition, we encourage our alumni to fulfill their goals and aspirations in communities that provide a common foundation for meaningful action and social life.
