Healing Teddies Real giving starts with a hug The "Healing Teddies" foundation (NPO) was founded 20 years ago with the goal of relieving the physical and mental pain of people going through difficult times, such as cancer patients, terror attack survivors, holocaust survivors, disabled veterans, and more. Our mission is to hug those in need, all around Israel and even beyond, regardless of race, religion, age, or gender. We are a non-profit organization (NPO). Our Goals: 1. To support and provide mental strength to cancer patients in hospitals and oncology centers through activities given by our volunteers in our activities. Each patient is granted his own healing teddy. 2. To develop therapeutic tools and an empowering environment for cancer patients via workshops, meetings, and through other holistic approaches. 3. To assist, strengthen and create bonds with adults, children and those suffering from mental trauma by empowering visits. 4. To create therapeutic models for patients, special needs populations and PTSD patients. 5. To create and encourage social involvement and volunteering activity among individuals and businesses. 6. To develop and integrate special projects for hospice patients under palliative care. In the recent years, we have extended our activities to dozens of empowering meetups for oncologic patients. We have developed a hospice-dedicated activity aiming to strengthen the patients and their families, an educational exciting project in schools across the county, promoting giving, compassion and entrepreneurship values among pupils. We touched the hearts of thousands of patients of all ages, in hospitals, medical centers and geriatric centers. Some Numbers · 4,000 different volunteers participated in our activities. · 120 active "Commando" volunteers. · 42,000 patients have already received a hug. · Over 30 hospitals and rehabilitation centers. · 20 years of activity.
