A New Way

For over 25 years, “A New Way” (ANW) has been committed to building a shared society in Israel through multicultural educational processes. ANW acts as a unifying force, challenging the existing rifts in Israeli Jewish-Arab relations. Jews and Arabs have no real opportunities for meaningful interaction during their day-to-day life. Our vision is to promote Arab-Jewish relations by creating personal and direct encounters between the people themselves, to reduce fear, prejudice, alienation, and hostility, and replace them with tolerance, understanding, trust, and a deep commitment to multicultural collaboration. ANW's unique model is based on a holistic, multi-community approach that brings the ‘informal’ into the formal education system, emphasizing that learning should come from one's own experience. A New Way works with over 70 schools around the country, engaging 5,500 students, parents, teachers and community leaders a year. A New Way’s programs are officially recognized and accredited by the Israeli Ministry of Education. For our significant contribution to promoting a shared society in Israel, ANW was awarded the Israel Prize for Unity by President Hertzog.
