The “Forum of Reservists’ Wives” was established in November 2023, following the mobilization of approximately 300,000 reserve soldiers during the “Iron Swords” war. What began as a spontaneous initiative on Facebook quickly evolved into a significant civic movement with more than 20,000 active members and representing approximately 100,000 families in Israel - about one percent of the country’s population.
Led by mothers, all of them spouses of reservists, the Forum has achieved substantial milestones, including advancing the “Mobilized for the Reserves” programs - a government assistance package totaling 27 billion NIS — and historic legislation protecting the employment rights of reservists’ spouses.
In April 2024, the Forum was officially recognized as a registered non-profit organization. Today, it includes 20 employees and 85 volunteers and continues to operate in collaboration with the government, the Knesset, the IDF, local authorities, and the media - expanding support for reservist families, strengthening the support systems for reservists’ children, deepening partnerships with the business sector, and broadening the recruitment pool of the reserves.
In recognition of its extensive activity, the organization received the Ruth Rappaport Prize and the Knesset Speaker’s Award, was selected to light a torch at Israel’s 76th Independence Day ceremony, and was included in the influential women lists of Forbes (2024), Globes (2025), and in the “Top 100 Influencers” lists of TheMarker and Calcalist (2025).
