Friendship Circle’s goal is to bring happiness and companionship to children and young adults with special needs by celebrating their individuality. We strive also to bring energy, support, and peace of mind to their families. OUR MISSION:Based on the bedrock foundation of Tikkun Olam, Friendship Circle’s mission is to:• Engage children and teens with special needs through a full range of experiences.• Provide parents and families of children and teens with special needs much needed respite and support.• Enrich, inspire and motivate mainstream teenagers through sharing of themselves with others.• Create a sense of responsibility and connection to the Jewish community for teenagers through educational and social opportunities.OUR VISION:Mentally and/or physically challenged young people are often socially isolated. At the same time, mainstream adolescents often lack meaningful focus and sense of purpose. Forging lifelong friendships and socialization between the two solves both problems and develops a more sensitive and elevated society.Friendship Circle creates an environment for mainstream teens that will nurture and inspire them with meaning, purpose, and self-value.We foster a sense of connection to and responsibility for the greater Jewish community through innovative and stimulating programs. This is essential to develop the leaders of tomorrow’s Jewish community.Friendship Circle aims to transcend cultural and religious boundaries by welcoming and embracing every individual.We envision a world in which all people, including those with special needs, and their families experience acceptance, inclusion and friendship. We want to create a future where they never again have to suffer from social isolation.
