*Established as a non-profit organization in memory of the Jewish Martyrs of Ghetto Theresienstadt. *Building erected at Givat Haim Ihud, in Central Israel in 1975 as a cultural facility including a museum, exhibition halls, library, educational center and archives holding artefacts donated by survivors and an index of the 150,000 Jews from Czechoslovakia, Austria, Germany, Netherlands and Denmark who were imprisoned in the Ghetto. *Acts as a bridge connecting the victims, survivors and future generations. *Houses a unique collection of art work created in the Ghetto where cultural activity was the key to keeping one's dignity in spite of the inhuman conditions. *Through a wide range of educational activities, Beit Theresienstadt reaches pupils, students, soldiers, officers, researchers and teachers from Israel and around the world in an attempt to perpetuate the memory of the Martyrs, while deepening an understanding of the Holocaust, with emphasis on Theresienstadt.
