Olim Beyahad

Olim Beyahad was founded in 2007 with the mission of advancing the full integration of Ethiopian-Israelis into Israeli society through higher education and quality employment - framed as a national priority and driven by a vision of a diverse, equitable, and just society. In its early years, the organization focused on increasing employment rates among Ethiopian-Israeli academic graduates, and has since expanded its scope to include youth, discharged soldiers, and university students. Today, Olim Beyahad operates a comprehensive suite of programs that provide holistic, continuous support, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence, leadership development, and access to quality careers. Alongside its direct services, the organization works to influence broader Israeli society, particularly employers and key decision-makers, mobilizing them to challenge stereotypes, promote inclusion, and advance meaningful representation across sectors. Over the years, Olim Beyahad has built a nationwide network of hundreds of employers and volunteers who serve as mentors, open professional doors, and actively promote workforce diversity. Olim Beyahad operates across three core program areas: 1. Youth, Discharged Soldiers, and Students The organization delivers a comprehensive continuum of programs supporting Ethiopian-Israeli youth, discharged soldiers, and students at critical decision points shaping their academic and professional trajectories. This includes excellence programs for youth, with a particular focus on STEM fields, alongside a growing Academic Guidance track for discharged soldiers and young adults. This track provides personalized, in-depth counseling in selecting competitive fields of study at leading academic institutions, paving the way toward high-quality, future-oriented careers. Grounded in the belief that excellence is a key driver of social and economic mobility, Olim Beyahad continues to support participants throughout their academic journey - offering access to opportunities, mentorship, networking, skills development, enrichment workshops, and targeted financial support to ensure persistence and success. 2. Career Development This program area is dedicated to securing high-quality employment for Ethiopian-Israeli academics at the forefront of the labor market, thereby advancing equal opportunity, socioeconomic mobility, and shifts in public perception. Through tailored programs, participants gain critical tools, knowledge, and professional networks that enable successful integration into a rapidly evolving job market. This work is carried out in partnership with hundreds of senior professionals and industry leaders who volunteer as mentors, playing a pivotal role in facilitating access to opportunities and advancing the placement of participants in positions aligned with their skills and potential. 3. Graduates Network - Olim Beyahad’s graduates network includes these days nearly 1,700 members and serves as a cornerstone in realizing the organization’s long-term vision. The network provides an ongoing platform for professional development, career advancement, and community belonging, fostering resilience and sustained support over time. Its activities include personalized career guidance, mentorship, professional training, and access to employment opportunities, alongside initiatives that promote social leadership and civic engagement. The network also hosts professional communities across key sectors - including high-tech, law, finance, and management - creating spaces for peer learning, growth, and meaningful professional connections with both individual and collective impact.
