ISRAEL LEMONADE FUND

The Lemonade Fund is a registered Israeli non-profit that provides urgent grants to financially vulnerable women facing breast or gynecological cancer. Our grants help cover non-medical expenses, such as - childcare, transportation, rent, and other basic living costs - so that women can focus on treatment with peace of mind. So that no patient has to delay treatment due to fear of financial collapse.. While Israel’s healthcare system provides excellent medical care, it does not cover the financial fallout of cancer. As breast/gynecological cancer treatment is long, it can have a disproportionate impact on a patient’s finances - more so than other types of cancer. For women already struggling to make ends meet, single mothers, elderly widows living on small pensions, etc.,a cancer diagnosis can mean choosing between treatment and paying rent. Founded in 2011 by Shari Mendes, following her own experience with breast cancer, the Lemonade Fund was created to fill this gap and give direct financial aid to vulnerable women struggling with financial crisis as well as with their disease.
