Closing Ranks

Young adults have difficulty transitioning between military or national service and civil life. Young adults who lack a supportive family, deal for the first time in their lives, with moving from supportive structures to a lack of structure, at the very moment they need to make significant decisions about their future. Such situations may generate loneliness, alienation, despair, and anger. Existing structures offer funding for career orientation, study scholarships, vocational training, etc. We believe in personal accompaniment by a responsible experienced adult, who has faith in the youngster, assists him/her in choosing among different available options. The process helps the youngster acquire a suitable profession, achieve economic independence and integrate in the community as a valuable and contributing member. In addition to helping to deal with practical issues, we promote openness, tolerance, mutual assistance and solidarity between different sectors of the population, incite youngsters to develop trust in the society, and encourage self-sustainability and independence.
