Friend of Atidim

Atidim's mission is to expand and maximize the human potential within Israel's geographic and social periphery, in response to the needs of the IDF, industry, and the economy. This happens through personal support for every young person: pursuing academic and professional education, personal and values-based development, meaningful military service, and quality employment in industry and hi-tech.

Behind this mission stands a clear vision: young men and women from Israel's social and geographic periphery achieving equal representation in the centers of excellence of the IDF, industry, and hi-tech, in the fields of science and technology. Not as a gesture, but because Israel has a genuine interest in unlocking this talent - to advance the individual, strengthen the economy, and build a more equal, diverse, and fair Israeli society.

Atidim operates as a unique combination of two bodies: the Atidim Directorate in the IDF and the Atidim nonprofit, which together accompany every participant along one continuous journey - from school age, through meaningful military service, to integration into the workforce. This work reaches young people from the geographic and social periphery, Ethiopian-Israeli youth, members of the Druze community, graduates of the ultra-Orthodox education system, and additional unique populations.

Today, Atidim supports roughly 9,950 active participants, alongside an alumni community of approximately 10,050 graduates who have already completed Atidim's academic tracks.
