The association began its activities in 20129 for the "light" of the late Duvdevan unit fighter, Sergeant Ronen Lubersky, who fell during an operational activity in Ramallah.
Ronen built a set of values and formulated a life model for himself "to think with yourself every weekend or every day what you gave this week, how much of yourself you gave this week, how you can improve and what to preserve".
Ronen's model of values and giving became the core of the activities of the "L'Oro - Educational and Ethical Empowerment" association. The sentence "How much of yourself did you give this week?", which is engraved on his tombstone, is the motto of all the association's activities.
The "Lauro" association encourages values, youth leadership, giving, love of the country and Zionism, through the implementation of various programs for children and youth that encourage them to give of themselves, to friends, family, community, society and the state. The association operates among diverse populations with the goal of connecting and empowering them.
During the Iron Swords War, 13 fighters from the Duvdevan unit fell, and in one council with the family and from a place of shared destiny, it was decided that the association's activities would be the "light" of each of the Duvdevan fallen.
"Journey to Your Light", which is a peak event that summarizes all annual activities, became the "journey to their light" of all the fallen Duvdevan unit. 31 in number.
The journey includes 3 components:
A physical and mental challenge in which the five cornerstones on which the association's activities are based are expressed - responsibility, devotion to the goal, aspiration for excellence, kindness and humility.
Obituary and Memory – Mutual Guarantee and Legacy of Battle.
From Obituary to Dance – A Journey to Rebirth – Love of the Land and Zionism.
The association’s activities in general and the culminating event in particular reveal the image of the fallen to thousands of teenagers, young people, soldiers, families and many others, illuminating the path and leaving a significant mark in the heart of everyone who takes part.
Each and every one comes with a precise mission. To shine their special light in expressions of color, voice, gaze, thoughts and actions. Only a person who is connected to themselves can give to the world.
The “Le-Oro" association works for teenagers. To help anyone who wishes, to connect with their self. To discover inner treasures and abundance and to feel a partner in the life of the entire nation.
