PANIM MEIROT

Panim Meirot, a Sefardi congregation that prays in Nusach Yerushalmi (“The Jerusalem minhag”), is one of the oldest congregations in the Homat Shmuel neighbourhood of Jerusalem. Our community’s motto is much like its name – to shine our light on others and welcome all visitors. We have been blessed with a large community which already numbers a hundred families. Today we pray in a kindergarten. The congregation’s schedule includes three daily services (weekdays, Shabbat, and holidays) and regular classes. We are also active in community initiatives – helping the less fortunate, kimcha de’pischa (קימחא דפיסחא) and various activities for children (shirat ha’bakashot - שירת הבקשות, reading and singing psalms and learning to read Torah - טעמי המקרא). We are in the midst of building our synagogue. Our congregation and the neighbourhood’s residents look forward to the day when we finish building our synagogue, and finally erect a suitable House for Hashem. We sincerely appeal for your help and donations to help us meet this lofty and holy goal. May it be Hashem’s will that we all take part in building this spiritual centre together and succeed in spreading the love of Torah and sanctifying Hashem’s name.
