The Shalhav association was established with the aim of expanding the circles of international giving in the fields of education, welfare and religion.
The association was founded by the moshav "Katif" who were displaced from Gush Katif by a program called "disengagement" and chose to establish their new settlement in the east of Lakish out of a sense of mission and a desire to continue the Zionist work.
Among the activities of the association - summer camps for children with special needs, assistance to the elderly, Jewish cultural activities for children and adults, operation of a day care center and the construction of a synagogue building in memory of Tali Hatuel and her four daughters who were members of the community and were murdered in Gush Katif.
