The Center was founded to ensure that survivors of sexual assault receive support and to help Israel heal from the social ill of sexual violence. Accomplishing both aspects of this mission- an Israel where survivors are supported and future sexual violence along with the devastating damage that it inflicts is prevented- is what success looks like. To achieve this, we utilize a three-pronged strategy including nuanced crisis support, educational outreach and awareness raising aimed at sparking social change.
The Center facilitates 45 targeted projects-each tailored to the needs observed in the field-for communities across the spectrum of Israeli society. We are responsible for crisis work in the densely populated Tel Aviv metropolitan area, serving 1.8 million residents, 23% of all Israelis. The Center also runs national projects, such as Israel's only sexual assault crisis hotline for men.
Directly reaching tens of thousands annually, and hundreds of thousands since our founding in 1978, we are witnessing this crucial work's ripple effects in changing perceptions of sexual violence- building towards a more just and compassionate Israel.
