Matnas Shaar-Hanegev (R.A.)

‎The Shaar Hanegev Community Center offers residents of the council a package of solutions in a variety of informal activities. Together with its partners in the council, the community center serves as a home for creativity, culture, and social education in Sha'ar Hanegev. ‎ ‎The community center is the place to expand knowledge, develop talents and find ways of expression through music, dance and movement, science and innovation, art and crafts, and cultural activity in all its forms. ‎ ‎We offer Shaar Hanegev residents opportunities to fill leisure with meaning through activities for children, youth, young adults and adults in diverse cultural and content fields: plays, performances, concerts, lectures, classes, workshops, courses, trips and activities. We plan and implement all these in dialogue with the community and in partnership with other units in the council. All this activity is aimed at personal development, but at the same time at meeting, working together and creating community connections.‎ ‎The community center offers services and accompaniment to Sha'ar Hanegev residents at transitional moments in their lives: enlistment in the IDF and leaving for citizenship, entering the world of academia and employment, opening a business or social enterprise, and a desire for career development and professional development at every stage of life. This is how the community center takes part in the development of human and community capital at Sha'ar Hanegev.‎ ‎The community center is the home for children and youth in social education and beyond, and for young people through the Youth Center. It offers programs of encounters, leadership and empowerment for different populations, and guidance in personal challenges of identity formation and finding groups of belonging and identification that encourage, promote and enable social involvement. ‎ ‎The community center opens a platform for Shaar Hanegev residents to think and act together, to realize dreams, to realize values and to put ideas into practice‎
