ISEES is a non-profit scientific society. We support environmental science and research, and work to communicate environmental-scientific knowledge to decisionmakers and the public to improve individual and collective environmental decision-making. Our projects focus on policymaking (e.g., our Science and Policy Fellowship Program, MIMSHAK); media and communication (e.g., our Science and Environment News Agency, ZAVIT); Academic outreach (e.g., our Scientific Journal, Ecology and Environment, and the Annual Conference for Science and the Environment); science and research (our scientific bureau and research funds); and Environmental Education (e.g., ZAVIT in Education – an environmental science hub for teachers and students).
Our ethos as an organization is that awareness to, and knowledge of environmental issues is the first step towards environmental behavioral change. We strive to identify new modes of operation, new audiences to which we can bring reliable environmental information, and to communicate complex environmental knowledge in a clear, concise, and engaging manner (e.g., publishing articles and short videos in Israel’s leading media outlets, posting on social media platforms, etc.).
