“"Kenafayim" was established in 2004 as a multidisciplinary art center - an association that brings together a community of creators who deal with emotional difficulties and challenges or with disabilities, where art is a way of life and a means of processing and expressing their feelings. We provide a daily work environment - a structured and professional framework for artistic, emotional, and social development, guided by teams of facilitators, teachers, and guest lecturers - all active artists. Kenafayim operates 6 art tracks- music, theater, visual arts, writing, video-film and animation in three different sites in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, for artists with mental illness and disabilities
Our primary goals are:
• To rehabilitate artists with special needs by empowering and developing their artistic skills, transform them into contributing members of the community, and break free from the social confines in which they live.
• To expose the art created by individuals with special needs to the general public, thus promoting societal change and breaking down stigmas directed towards this demographic.
