OU Israel, the Orthodox Union's branch in Israel, has been servicing the Jewish community in Israel for 45 years. Each year, tens of thousands of English-speaking olim (immigrants) of all ages are making a soft-landing in their new home, inspired through innovative and inspirational OU Israel classes and programs. OU Israel helps olim to feel connected to one another and to Israeli society. For over two decades, we have been at the forefront working with at-risk Israeli teens in many of Israel's toughest neighborhoods. In each city, we work with local government officials, the Department of Welfare and local schools to identify children who are in need of a warm and secure Teen Center to keep them out of trouble and a youth counselor to provide a listening ear, support and direction. OU Israel’s vision is two-fold: 1. To be the premier resource to ensure that English-speaking Olim have successful Klitah experiences by creating community and providing educational and spiritual opportunities. 2. To ensure Israel’s at-risk youth are supported and empowered to make the critical transition into adulthood – enabling their participation in Israel society and ensuring their upward socio-economic mobility.
