The Shual Foundation was founded in 2006 by veterans of the Givati Reconnaissance Unit (Sayeret Givati), with a mission to unite and support the unit’s alumni, assist active-duty soldiers, and honor the memory of fallen comrades. The foundation operates as a non-profit organization, supported by a professional team of legal and financial advisors. Core Objectives Support for discharged soldiers Assisting veterans in their transition to civilian life, including guidance in academic studies, career development, and social integration. Support for active-duty soldiers Providing aid in times of hardship, logistical assistance, equipment support, and maintaining close collaboration with unit commanders. Mental health and resilience Offering psychological support, assistance for wounded soldiers, processing workshops, and strengthening connections among alumni. Education and academia Awarding scholarships for higher education to unit veterans, ensuring equal opportunities for academic and professional advancement. Community building and camaraderie Maintaining a strong network of alumni, developing a supportive community, operating a members’ club, and promoting an alumni-led business directory. Commemoration and remembrance Preserving the unit’s heritage, honoring the fallen, maintaining relationships with bereaved families, and organizing memorial ceremonies and events. The Shual Foundation aspires to carry the spirit of the unit into civilian life fostering camaraderie, dedication, mutual responsibility, and meaningful service to the community.
