Matzmichim (Uplifters) is a leading Israeli organization operating for the past 19 in educational programs that promote safety and belonging and reduce alienation and violence in Israeli schools.
Based on extensive international academic research and vast field experience (with over 200K students), Matzmichim developed an effective model for norms change- to reduce harmful norms and increase pro-social behaviors (sharing, listening, empathy, solidarity, support, and encouragement).
Matzmichim's 80 facilitators work nationwide in every Israel sector (secular, religious, arab, orthodox) in school and informal educational and at-risk youth frameworks.
Its effective interventions make Matzmichim a highly demandable service (4th most demanded program in school, a 9.1/10 grade in the official educational system programs' database). The model is taught by thousands of educators annually in seminars and academic courses in Israel and worldwide.
In 2016, Matzmichim was awarded the Knesset Chairman award for its contribution to Israeli society, and its groundbreaking model is considered a Social Start-up by IVN (Israel Venture Network).
In 2023, Matzmichim's practical model for violence and Cyberbullying reduction received international recognition from the UN Human Rights Council.
Matzmichim provides services regularly to leading and governmental offices: The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Welfare and Social Services, the National Insurance Institute, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of National Security, the Israel Internet Association, Child Online Protection bureau, etc.
