The Achla Association, Quality of Life for people with special needs, was established in 2000. The association has established many rehabilitation projects: Educational projects and projects in the fields of art and photography, rehabilitation and treatment (greenhouse, computing, physiotherapy and fitness development, employment and work) mostly for young people studying in the special education system.
The Heyanut center (Response Center) was established as a project of the Achla Association in 2010 and has accompanied and accompanies about two hundred families in Jerusalem to this day and serves as a CASE MANAGER for them in all areas of life. The service in Jerusalem is provided to families who have children, young people and adults with special needs. Usually these are families who are in severe distress and crisis and sometimes these are families who live in constant trauma and cannot find their way at all, including in communicating with the authorities. The Response Center serves families in Jerusalem as a CASE MANAGER in all areas of life and offers them creative solutions in the areas of housing, education, health and employment, acting together with the families themselves and the welfare system and many other systems. The Heyanut Center team implements these solutions and the families return to functioning in the community and a normative life, and even enjoy a good quality of life. Families outside of Jerusalem receive guidance and advice regarding services in their area of residence.
