The Tzurba M'rabanan Institute was established about 20 years ago by the current head of the Institute, Rabbi Benzion Algazi. The Institute was founded with the encouragement and blessing of Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu OBM, who was the President and rabbinic guide of the Institute from its inception. Today the President of the institute is Rabbi Yaakov Ariel, Chief Rabbi of Ramat Gan. The Tzurba M'rabanan Institute's aim is to establish Halacha learning centers in Israel and around the world and to provide to all those interested, theoretical and practical learning tools for the study of Jewish law or Halacha. In addition, the Institute aims to provide a concise, systematic and fulfilling learning experience, and to serve as a bridge connecting the generational chain of halachic ruling to anyone who wants to both learn and observe the Halacha. The unique teaching method developed at the Institute introduces the learner to the generational chain of halachic ruling from the "Rishonim" through the "Acharonim" and to practical Halacha implications. The curriculum is focused, orderly and comprehensive. In four years, learning once a week, the participant will cover all the practical laws of the Shulchan Aruch. The learning is conducted using booklets that the institute edits and produces, in which each student acquires a booklet that serves as the basis for lessons. The booklet has the sources listed in an orderly manner, and is easy to read and easy to carry. Using these booklets one can easily observe the mitzvah of "belechtecha baderech" (learning while traveling).
