The Hapoel Hamizrachi Synagogue and community center named after Rabi Dorf was established in the year 1935, by the residents of Nachalat Yizchak in Tel Aviv. The founders, Torah and working men, members of Hapoel Hamizrachi, from Chasidic homes, were partly cowshed owners and partly commerce workers, joined by vicinity residents from Givaataim and Ramat Gan. As of its founding to date, for approximately 80 years, the synagogue constitutes a central axis in the religious – national life of Nachalat Yizchak and its vicinity. The founders and their successors to date, saw before them a goal to establish a synagogue, seminary and community center, which shall firstly and foremost be used as a house of prayer throughout the year and at the same time shall be a seminary worthy for Torah and thought, profoundly in the Torah of Israel, mirroring Israel's rising, renewal and self-molding by its first generations and generations to come. A lively and active community integrated in place, a community of grace, conducting a versatile community life around the synagogue and succeeding over the years to pass the community traditions from generation to generation and to integrate new families from the neighborhood and its vicinity, who see the community as a first home to their spiritual and community life. Alongside, the community also addresses its neighbors, which do not regularly visit the synagogue, and attempts to offer them a home in happy days (Bar Mizvah, Chatan) and heaven forbid mourning days. As of its foundation, the community ascribed importance to nomination of a Rabi, and the community's first Rabi was Izchak Filz, who served in such position simultaneously with managing "Torah & Melacha" Yeshiva until the beginning of the second world war. Rabi Moshe Asher Dorf arrived at our community in the year 1942 after illegal immigration and arrest by the British governance, and served as the community's Rabi for 26 consecutive years. After his decease and as recognition and esteem to his contribution to the synagogue life, it was decided to call the synagogue after his name. In the years after his decease, Rabi Zvi A. Slushetz served as a tutoring teacher in the synagogue. Afterward Rabi Micha Halevi served as the community Rabi for 23 consecutive years, until his nomination as the head Ashkenazi Rabi of the city of Petach Tikva. In the year 2015, Rabi Yaron Nisenholtz was appointed as the community Rabi, and he serves as such to date. The shack that served as the synagogue in the beginning was replaced during the 60's by a building in which the synagogue resides today. Together with the expansion of the community, the synagogue was also expanded to include an auditorium which serves the community and its members for different events, including cultural activities, which constitute an inseparable part of the community life. Today the community consists of approximately 110 families. The prayer version of the synagogue is the Sepharadi version.
