The Haifa Rape Crisis Center (HRCC) is a non-profit organization that fights sexual assault of all forms. The HRCC was established in 1979, and provides services to Haifa and the entire north of Israel--41 municipalities from Hadera to the Upper Galilee. This area includes over one million children, teens, and adults. The HRCC's goals are: to support victims of sexual violence and their families, to work with children and adolescents to prevent sexual violence, to raise community members' and professionals' awareness about sexual violence and its consequences, and to protect the rights of survivors. The HRCC works not only to help survivors of sexual assault, but to prevent assaults from happening in the first place. The HRCC has more than 45 years of professional experience in combating sexual violence, and operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Areas of activity: Helplines – The HRCC operates a telephone hotline that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (accessible by dialing 1202 from any telephone in Israel's northern region). Additionally, the WhatsApp Helpline's hours of operations have expanded to better serve the community. The helplines lends an ear to victims of rape, sexual assault, incest, and sexual harassment. The phones are staffed by about 80 volunteers who have undergone intensive training. The HRCC provides ongoing telephone support for victims, as well as personal counseling; legal counseling; police, hospital, and courts escorts; and therapeutic support groups. Most of these services are provided by volunteers accompanied by a team of professionals. And, more than 10,000 contacts were answered in the year 2023 alone. Court counseling – the HRCC provides information on criminal proceedings, other legal proceedings, and information on the rights of victims. As taking legal action often re-traumatizes victims, the HRCC works to minimize these consequence as much as possible by accompanying victims to hospitals, police stations, legal offices, and court proceedings. Group and individual therapeutic treatments - The HRCC offers therapy for women and girls who are victims of sexual assault, mothers whose children have been assaulted, spouses whose partner has been assaulted, and more. These support groups empower women and show them that they are not alone in their pain and experiences. Education and outreach department – The HRCC not only works to heal wounds, but to stop sexual violence before it happens. The goal of this department is to bring about social change in relation to survivors of sexual violence and to act to eradicate the phenomenon and prevent the next trauma. We hold hundreds of workshops for adolescents and adults every year. The department also trains the development teams at the various institutions in order to prevent sexual harassment in organizations, companies, authorities, and more. Professional training – The advocacy team holds workshops for professionals in various fields who are likely to encounter survivors of sexual assault and to coach them on providing tailored treatment for survivors. We provide these services to psychologists, social workers, lawyers, police, therapy students, and more. This donation is recognized for tax purposes according to section 46A. Your donation will help us act against sexual violence in all forms, as well as provide assistance to the victims and their families. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Our telephone hotline is anonymous and operates all day, every day - dial 1202 for women, 1203 for men.
