In light of increasing life expectancy, more and more elderly individuals in Israel face numerous daily challenges. The Sahlav Association was established in 1984 with the aim of assisting them and their families. As a regional organization, we work to improve the welfare of the elderly in Tirat Carmel, Hof HaCarmel Regional Council, Yokneam, and Haifa. We believe that alongside medical advancements and extended life expectancy, it is our duty to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens and grant them a place of honor in society. Through a diverse range of services and activities, the association accompanies the elderly at crucial junctures in their lives, addressing social, health, and emotional aspects. Our goal is to strengthen the position of the elderly in the community, help boost their sense of self-worth, and bring happiness and meaning to their lives. Sahlav Association, one of the first organizations in Israel to mobilize for senior citizens, is a private non-profit managed by elected public representatives. The association employs over 100 skilled and experienced workers. At the helm of the association is Eli Berger, who brings 30 years of dedication to senior citizens in both the private and public sectors. Over the years, he has led nursing homes, elderly care associations, and private companies that have supported senior citizens at various stages of their lives.
