Nigun Halev

Nigun Halev is a grassroots community that was founded over 20 years ago by a group of local educators and activists. The founding members wished to create a community that will be a place to explore Jewish identity, education and Jewish life and culture, while promoting Shared Society and dialogue in a highly diverse region of Israel. The community is home to over 150 members and celebrates lifecycle events (B'nai Mitzvah), holidays and Shabbat while also building itself as a diverse cultural and spiritual centre in the Lower Galilee. Hundreds more take part in our activities throughout the year, which wish to bring together people of all religions and nationalities. We have created a partnership with local leaders and communities, including the Arab-speaking Catholic Church in Migdal Ha’emek, local leaders from Shefaraam (including the Muslim scouts), Leaders of the Sufi movement in Nazerath and Eilut and leaders from the town of Manshiyet Zabda and Zarzir. Among our projects and events: - Nigunale- a youth orchestra of 25 musicians who play in our area and perform Israeli and Jewish music. - Holiday and Shabbat services - Lifecycle events - Bnei and Bnot Mitvah - Culture and life - long learning
