Tmura is a foundation established by leading Israeli venture capital funds and investor groups to involve the high-tech sector in supporting charitable activities. The model is simple: early-stage companies give Tmura a warrant/options, convertible (at exit) into a small portion of their equity. If the company succeeds, Tmura sells its shares and donates the proceeds to charities in Israel; the focus is on education and youth-related activities, and companies are welcome to indicate which organizations they would like to support. Tmura has had exits from tens of companies including Waze ($1,500,000!!), Replay, Valtech, Ravello, CyberArk, Wix, eXelate, Borderfree, Checkmarx, Intucell, XtremIO, and several others, generating nearly $15,000,000 so far for the community.
