The Talmudic Encyclopedia is about 7o years old. The outstanding quality of the entries and the uniqueness of the project has never been compromised, despite ups and downs in financial support, causing temporary delays in the production of new volumes. The Talmudic Encyclopedia is a unique project and one of the most important enterprises in Talmudic—Halakhic studies in our generation. The project has been received enthusiastically and has gained wide acknowledgement by all those who are interested in Talmudic studies and in Jewish Law. The Talmudic Encyclopedia has ensured its place as one of the few enterprises in the Halakhic literature which will stay for eternity due to its precise, accurate, comprehensive and concise summary of any Talmudic topic. It is considered to be a very reliable source of data, which is the product of an elaborate and meticulous work of outstanding Talmidei—Chachamim. The Talmudic Encyclopedia is primarily intended or talmidei chachamim who are well—versed in the Talmudic literature. Nonetheless, due to its unique style it also is very useful to larger audiences who are interested in Judaism. Due to a substantial donation by Mr. Dov Friedberg of Toronto, the Talmudic Encyclopedia is currently entering a new and exciting era. We have recruited excellent new writers and editors who underwent a thorough and comprehensive training in the Encyclopedic style of writing. These new talents combined with the enormous experience and knowledge of the outstanding existing editors and reviewers will enable us IY"H to complete the entire project by the year 2024, without compromising the high quality of the entries. All supporters of This unique project will be partners in one of the most important enterprises in Judaism of eternal significance, endorsed and advocated by all gedolei hador.
