Going for giving

So my name is Nadav. I am 34 years old, married to Amit and father to Alon. After 10 and a half busy and challenging years in the army, I felt that I needed some time for myself and went on a two-year journey around the world. I wandered in Africa, I traveled with a vehicle which I built in a bed and a pantry for about six months in South America, but the highlight was two extreme trips I made in the United States - in both of them I crossed the United States on foot from Mexico to Canada. The first 4,250 km in the western USA and the second 4,900 km in the central-western USA. All alone, all on foot and with a bag on my back - in the desert, in snowy mountains with wild animals. Amazing journeys that made me have extraordinary experiences, see nature in all its glory and feel alive and meaningful. Already during the travels I knew that this was something that I would also like to incorporate later in my life and not just on a trip after the army When I returned to Israel, everyone was interested in my travels: what I saw, how far I walked, what I thought about, what animals I met, and what dangers I faced... I didn't expect it to arouse such interest, but I started sharing in lectures and at every opportunity when asked. Then one day a desire arose in me to combine the interest that travel and extremes create in people with meaningful social action. After all, I'm really not the thing, but if through the journeys that I love so much I can also help people who need help - I'd be more than happy. And that's how the project was created - 'Going for giving', in the framework of which I will go on a journey of 2,650 km on the Alps. And this time too - all on foot and with a bag on your back in breathtaking views and this time there are two goals. The first as always: to manage to walk the entire distance and cross the entire Alps and reach the finish line before Rosh Hashanah - I am responsible for this goal. The second goal, and here I will need your help, is to raise 50 NIS for each km of walking, so when I reach the finish line we will have 132,500 NIS!!! The amount that will be raised, will be transferred as a donation to the organization to give, and with it we will be able to help 1472 families in need get through the holiday with dignity.
