Establish Theraputic Kitchen at Tuvia Dormitory

Tuvia boarding school in Harduf is a warm and rehabilitative home for 70 children and youth aged 7-19 from all over Israel, who were referred by the Ministry of Welfare to an out of-home framework. a small island of sanity and love for the students who experience difficult challenges with the different circumstances of their lives. We dream of establishing a therapeutic kitchen in the boarding school that will enable children to receive individual or group emotional treatment through cooking. Cooking therapy is an innovative emotional treatment based on the connection between food and nutrition and the development of personality. The creative and enjoyable process of cooking allows children to express themselves, connect with their feelings and cope with their emotional difficulties. In order to establish a proper kitchen that will join the rest of the treatments and therapies provided in the boarding school, we will need to adapt one of the existing treatment rooms to it and purchase furniture, kitchen equipment, electrical appliances, dishes, etc. at a cost of about 30,000 NIS.
