The app that alleviates the loneliness of elders

Since the establishment of the association in March 2020 (on the eve of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic) we have recruited 10,000 young people and helped about 4,000 senior citizens from all over the country! Thanks to your donation, which will be invested in the development of the first intergenerational application in Israel and will allow every young person to connect with a senior citizen at the push of a button, together we will be able to help tens of thousands more veterans who need us. 20-80 is a platform for specific assistance and reducing the phenomenon of loneliness among senior citizens. The data show that 1 in 3 senior citizens reports loneliness and is at risk of social isolation. We connect the senior citizens to the local community, and create a shell of a "second family" through the residents of the neighborhood by providing specific assistance such as: bringing medicine/shopping, accompanying to the doctor or the post office, help with the computer or meetings to relieve loneliness. Thanks to the 20-80 senior citizens are no longer alone! 80% of young people leave their contact information after the first meeting to keep in regular contact, and this is how the community network gathers, which gives great value to both parties. The young volunteers who take part in our project testify that thanks to 20-80 they are more involved in the local community and feel significant in meetings with the senior citizens. These days we are working on the development of a new application that will allow us to increase our impact and connect with us thousands of veterans and new young people and work together to eradicate the phenomenon of loneliness in Israel!
